The sunflowers are big and beautiful here in my part of the country, so it seemed like a good time to post some fun sunflower crafts for children of all ages.
Seeing the sunflowers here signals that school is starting, fall is on the way, and the tail end of summer harvests is just around the corner.  Where did the time go?
Anyway, enjoy the crafts!
Sunflower Seed Craft
Even older kids will enjoy doing this sunflower seed collage craft! This is so easy too! All you need to do is glue sunflower seeds to construction paper (cardstock holds up better) and make any design of your choice. Younger kids will make a random sort of thing, but older kids can create some really great designs – especially if they draw it out on the paper before they start gluing.
Paper Plate Sunflower
Paint the back side of a paper plate yellow and let dry. Tear small strips of yellow paper and glue around the outside of the plate to make petals. Glue sunflower seeds to the center of the plate. You can also make a stem out of green construction paper.
Sunflower Hands Craft
Capture the size of your preschooler’s little hands with this fun sunflower craft that’s quick to make at home or in school, with just a few basic supplies. It’s a great summer day camp activity, too.
All About Sunflowers Coloring Book for Kids
Educators and parents of K-4th grade children are invited to download the “The Story of the Sunflower,” an educational coloring book for kids who want to learn about sunflowers and have fun at the same time.
