I have a really simple recipe for Kool-Aid playdough.

2 1/2 cups flour, 2 packs unsweetened Kool-Aid,
1 tbsp. alum or cream of tartar, 1/2 cup salt. Mix together.
Add 2 cups of boiling water and 3 tbsp. oil.
Knead on wax paper.
All these steps are important so don't change them up, ie the wax paper.
Store in an airtight container. It will last about a month.

Another idea is cinnamon and apple sauce dough. Simply mix cinnamon and applesauce until it becomes a dough. This takes a lot of cinnamon but it smells wonderful. This dough can be rolled and cut with cookie cutters. Poke a hole in them and allow them to air dry and they make great ornaments.
Warning this is NOT edible!!

Hope this helps.
