Duck Feet Painting Craft

by Chris on May 26, 2009

We’ve had lots of ducks in our pond this Spring and it made me think of the Duck Feet Painting craft.  This is a craft idea that was submitted to FreeKidCrafts.com some time ago, but it’s a lot of fun!

Duck Feet Painting

“A spring art activity that I have used often with toddlers and preschoolers that they really enjoy is “Duck Feet Painting”. We fill a tray with some yellow paint and use spatulas to make the webbed footprints on the paper. Playing or singing spring/duck songs during the activity reinforces the “duck” theme. Ex. Six Little Ducks, 5 Little Ducks, etc.”

When we tried this craft, we used fly swatters instead of spatulas.  The kids loved it!

I have done the duck feet craft for about 12 years now with the spatulas, but I also like to have them do chick feet too with plastic forks. So we do the duck feet with little chicks running about too. It’s a nice spring, bird craft. The kids love them!

Hi Chris,
Do you have a pattern for a tractor, specifically a John Deere, made from perler beads? My mother saw one at a craft show, but cannot find a pattern.
Thanks,
Karen Smith

Hi Karen,

Sorry… I don’t have any perler bead patterns that are that complicated, but I’ll keep my eyes open for one!
