Easy Thanksgiving Craft: A Thankful Book
I really like the idea of encouraging children to think about the meaning behind Thanksgiving… besides turkey that is.
The idea with this project is to make a Thanksgiving book craft that illustrates all the reasons why your child is thankful. You can make this as elaborate or simple as you want. You don’t even have to “make” the book. You could purchase a small scrapbook, Thanksgiving stickers, etc. and make this a really simple project.
Supplies:
- A holiday picture
- crayons
- several sheets of paper
- stapler
- pen or marker.
Directions:
1. Print out a holiday picture and let your child color it.
2. On the sheets of paper, ask your child what they are thankful for (you may have to help them get started or give them examples to get the ball rolling). Write down each thing they are thankful for on a separate piece of paper.
3. Assemble all the sheets with the picture on top and staple it along the side like a book. You can even take this further by having them draw pictures of what they are thankful for, etc. You can have kids cut out pictures from magazines to illustrate what they’re thankful for.
This Thanksgiving craft is super simple, but kids enjoy it!

I like this idea as well. When we made our thankful books we also did a handprint turkey for the cover. The thumb is the head and the fingers the feathers. Add feet and face. I also did starter sentences for each page regarding family, home, etc. for the little ones to draw pictures. Parents really enjoy these little books!
