Spine Tingling Salt Dough Ghosts

I saw this craft over at FamilyFun and thought you might like it as well!

It’s sooo easy that I should have thought of it myself.

First you’ll need a batch of salt dough. This is the recipe tha I use:

Salt Dough Recipe

Mix 1 1/2 Cups of salt and 4 cups of flour in a large bowl. Gradually add about 1 1/2 Cups of water until the dough forms a ball around the spoon. (If you add too much water, just add a little more flour. If it’s too crumbly, add more water.) Dump the dough out onto a flat surface and knead it until it is pliable and easily formed.

Create your little ghosts so that they have a flat bottom and will stand up on their own. They can look any way you want.

Once done, microwave the ghosts on a plate one or two at a time for 20-30 second intervals until the dough is fairly firm (about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes in total). This is a grownup job.

You may have to let them cook longer in the microwave, depending on the size.

Let the ghosts cool… they get very hot.

After they’ve cooled, use a black marker to draw on the face.

The trees above are just made out of twisted paper bags, Mary Jane.

Yes, you can certainly half the recipe if you want to Tricia.
