Paper Plate Jack-O-Lantern
This is a super simple paper plate project for little ones. There are several ways that you can adapt it to fit other themes than Halloween, so be sure to check at the end of the project for my adaptation ideas.
You'll Need:
- Paper Plate
- Green and Black Construction Paper
- Orange Tempera Paint
- Paint Brush
- Scissors
- Glue
What to Do:
1. Paint the back side of the paper plate orange. Let dry.
2. Cut out 3 triangles and a mouth shape from black construction paper. Glue on for the face.
3. Cut a stem shape out of green construction paper and glue onto the back side of paper plate so that it sticks up from top of plate.
Project Variations:
You can simply forget about the face to make this a paper plate pumpkin fit for a Autumn or Thanksgiving project.
Glue flat pieces of orange tissue paper all over the paper plate instead of painting it. You could even use tissue paper instead of construction paper for the face.
Ball up pieces of tissue paper and glue them to the plate to create a more textured three dimensional project.
