More Halloween Crafts at Kid Crafts Magazine

Did I mention that I Love Halloween???

This is part two of our Halloween edition of Kid Crafts Magazine. There were just too many great ideas out there to limit it to just one issue... Hope you don't mind!

Our next issue will focus on Fall crafts and activities.

Little KidTM Crafts

  • Bat Paper Bag Puppet - A cute paper bag puppet that you can print, cut out, and glue together.

  • Ghost Prints - This is one of those crafts where you get a lot of bang for your buck... it's super easy and little kids will absolutely love it!

  • Cat Candy Cup - This one is really easy... it even comes with a printable pattern.

  • Glittery Spider Web - On black construction paper, draw a spider web outline with elmer's glue. Sprinkle with glitter and let dry. If you want to add a spider, draw one in and glue on some wiggle eyes!

  • Rattling Skeletons - Use white paper to form 5 paper chains, and then connect to make a skeleton... one chain is the body and the other four are arms and legs. Trace children's hands and feet on white paper, cut and glue to the ends of the arms and legs. Cut an oval shape and draw on the face.

  • Styrofoam Ball Spiders - Paint a styrofoam ball (any size you want) black. Let dry. Use black pipe cleaners to make the legs by poking them about half an inch into the ball. There should be 8 legs. Use wiggle eyes to give your spider a little character. Attach a string to the top of your spider (so that you can hang it) by opening a paper clip up to form a "U", tying a string to a paper clip and then pushing it into the top of your spider as far as the paper clip will go. (Younger children shouldn't do the paper clip part on their own.)

  • Spaghetti Cobwebs - Cook some spaghetti and let it cool completely. Dip strands of spaghetti into white glue and arrange the pieces onto waxed paper. When the spaghetti dries, carefully peel the "cobweb" off the waxed paper.

More Challenging Crafts

  • Backpack Ghost - This little ghost makes everybody smile. This easy to put together craft is perfect for kids and they will love dangling him from their backpack!

  • Halloween Safety Pin Patterns - Creating friendship pins has become very popular for school age kids over the last few years. Here are some designs especially for Halloween... bat, jack-o-lantern, candy corn, and a witch hat.

  • Transparent Ghosts - If you ever ironed leaves between pieces of wax paper, you'll enjoy creating this ghost with your little goblin!

  • Oatmeal Container Witch - This is a really fun idea and it's also an open-ended craft so kids can be as creative as they want.

  • Edible Haunted House - These are a load of fun to make! We've been making them for years, but now they even come in kits. There's no need to buy an expensive kit... just follow these directions!

  • Clay Pot Frankenstein - A super easy craft project for older kids... suitable for a party or for the classroom.

  • Mummy Spoon - These can be a lot of work to make, but once finished they look really great!

  • Ghost Writer - We'll get right to the point: these spooky finger-shaped pens make cool Halloween party favors and are a cinch to make -- even if you're all thumbs.

Additional Resources...

  • Oriental Trading Co. - If you're planning on a group craft project for Halloween, then you have to check out what Oriental Trading has to offer. They have tons of projects to choose from and you can purchase complete craft kits for an entire class for pennies per person... this makes it really easy!
