Featured & New Crafts
A site visitor suggested a finger puppet theme quite some time ago, and I haven't had the time to work on it until this last week. Some of the links below go to printable finger puppets on other sites, and some are my own creation (with a little help on ideas from the same visitor). Enjoy!
Most of this first set of finger puppets are the kind that you print out, color, cut out, and glue the ends together to make the puppets. There are also the kind of puppets that you color, cut out, and put your fingers through the holes to make the legs of the puppets. The very last one in this section is for creating finger puppets out of old film canisters -- a very clever idea!
Seven Little Monsters Finger Puppets - Print out the template and color the Monsters. Cut out each one. Tape the ends together. (Seven Little Monsters are from PBS and usually play with the Berenstein Bears, if you're not familiar with them. I don't like them, but my little monsters do.)
Disney Lion King Finger Puppets - Print out the color templates, cut them out, and glue or tape the ends together. Disney also has Winnie the Pooh and Beauty and the Beast.
Town Mouse and Country Mouse - Like most of the others, print, cut out, and glue the ends together. These are from Jan Brett's Book.
Simple Finger Puppets - Print the template, color and cut out. These are the kind of finger puppets where you stick your fingers through the holes to make the legs.
More Simple Finger Puppets - Print the template, color and cut out. These are the kind of finger puppets where you stick your fingers through the holes to make the legs. This page contains a couple of dinosaurs, elephant, and some nursery rhyme figures.
Film Canister Finger Puppets - When you're ready to load your camera, don't toss out the film canister. The plastic container makes a lively finger puppet that's easy and fun to make. All the dressing materials can probably be found in various drawers and boxes throughout your home.
All the puppet patterns below can be used with paper, foam, or felt, depending on the skill of your little crafter, and how much time you want to put into the project. These are Free Kid Craft Originals!
Lion Finger Puppet - Simply print out the puppet parts and assemble according to the directions.
Rooster Finger Puppet - Print out all the rooster parts. Color and cut out. Glue together according to the directions.
Pig Finger Puppet - Print out the puppet parts on pink paper. Cut out and glue together according to the direction on the template. Cut a long strip of paper and curl around a pencil to make a cute pig tail.
More Original Finger Puppets Next Week!
